New at Norma-K

We did not get out this morning but it sure felt great to get out tonight (ONLY BOAT OUT THERE).  Very good fishing for the Blues tonight!!!  Lots of fish swimming on top and caught them both jigging and baiting them.  All fish were in the 4-8lb range with the pool winner beiniing 10.5lbs!  We will give our best once again tomorrow night!

Tough for us all weekend.

5-11-13

Rough condtions and a really fast drift did not help out our situation.  Started the day off in front of our inlet hoping to get lucky but was only to catch 1 Blue and was able to snag a few bunker.  Took a ride up and saw a good amount of Stripers but catching was tough.  We jigged 2 and caught 3 on bunkers.  We lost a good amount but they lived to see another day.

5/12/13

Looked great going out today!  Birds were working and bunkers were breakikng but it never panned out.   We snagged some bunkers but wound up going claming for them.  We caught a handful of keepers with some shorts but it was no ball of  fire.  

PUT IT THIS WAY, GLAD THAT THE NORMAKIII WILL BE FLUKE FISHING THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND!

Sorry for the late report!  What a fantastic day to be on the ocean.  We were greeted with flat calm seas and sunshine beating on our faces.  Fishing on the other hand was tough.  Lots of bunkers and birds picking the water but the bite was not on our side today.  We wound up snagging some bunkers and live lining them to catch a handful of nice size bass (20-30lbs) and broke a few off also.  It was a rough go all day but we made the best of it.  If you are coming to join us tomorrow and are a experianced fisherman, bring a bunker snag with you!!!  If not, the deckhands will do there best to help you out.  Hopefully, we can get into a good bunch of big fish like we got into today!

Nice weekend to be out on the water!  Tough fishing for us the past 2 days.  Lots of Stripers around but to get them to chew was a different ball game.  We picked a few yesterday and a few today along with some Blues but the readings that come under the boat, it looks like we should catch a bunch more.  Eventually, they will open there mouths and chew a little better.

ANOTHER DECENT DAY OF STRIPED BASS FISHING!

Picked and plucked away all day today and was able to put a good  catch together.  A few Bluefish showed up and we picked a few of them also.  Kroc's, spoons, and Ava's worked good today.  Back at it tomorrow!  Pool winner was around 20lbs today!

DECENT STRIPED BASS FISHING TODAY!

The morning started out a little on the slow side for us.  We read a good amount of fish but could not get them to bite.  They started to chew in the late morning - early afternoon slamming the Kroc's, Jersey Jay's, and gold jigs.  We caught a few on the Ava's but but the jigs I just listed worked the best.  Overall, we put a good catch together with quite a few anglers with limits, some with 1 and a few that just could not get it going.

GOOD STRIPED BASS FISHING TODAY!!!

We started the day off claming for them.  It was really good for about an hour and a half.  We had about 12 keepers along with some shorts.  The birds popped up offshore of us and we pulled the anchor and went.  We read plenty of Bass but just picked away putting about another dozen in the boat.  The readings we saw, we should of had a slaughter but was just a pick on the jigs.  Overall, it was decent with the pool winner being around 20lbs.  DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT TODAYS ACTION IN OUR PHOTO GALLERY!

Great day to be on the water today!

We made our way up to the North today looking for the Stripers.  We did not see any to stop on and jig so we went to Plan B and used clams.  It took about 1/2 hour to get our first one but after that we started to pick away.  At times, it looked like it was going to be good but then backed off.  The last hour of fishing died out but it was nice to see some Bass.  We wound up with some keepers along with shorts and a good amount of swing and missing going on.

We will start out with the jigs again tomorrow morning but if we do not see them, we will go right back to bait fishing!

Great weekend to be on the water but the fishing was a little on the slow side.

We covered a good area throughout the weekend, but ended up with nothing.  We read Striped Bass but nothing was hooked.  We threw every weapon that we had at them but no taker's.  There is a good amount of Stripers in the area, they just need to open there mouths and bite.  Hopefully this weather the next couple of days will stir them up and they will bite for us.

Tomorrow and Tuesday are not looking so good!  Wednesday is the next possible day to sail.

Tomorrows weather is not looking so good.  We will resume fishing on Saturday which looks much better.

We took out a small gang yesterday looking for the Striped Bass.  I saw a good amount of Bass swirling on top and the readings were great on the fish finder!  I thought we were in but never had a bite.  After the first two drifts, we never found them again.  There were some scattered readings of them but no luck hooking any.  Its good to see there is some around, now  they have to get into feeding mode.  We will give our best on Saturday!

Beautiful day but there was not enough people around for us to get out today.

I talked to a friend of mine out fishing today and said that there was a good amount of keeper Striped Bass in the area today.  Hopefully this is the start for a good spring run.

Today was our first day out for Striped Bass.  There was a good amount of gannets and gulls hitting the water this morning on bait and what looked like a few Bass under them but we had no bites.  We covered a good amount of ground but had not much luck at all. The water temp. was up around 47 degrees today which is a big improvement compared to last week.  Hopefully in the next couple of days, the water will warm up a few more degrees and they will start to bite.

WOW!  What a great day to be out on the water.  High of 83 in Point Pleasant today!

We wound up catching a few Blackfish on our first spot.  We had around 10 keepers and some shorts.  It looked like it was going to be a productive trip but it was very slow after that.  We move around a lot but could not find the ones that wanted to bite.  Pool winner was around 8lbs today!  A few more days of this weather should warm up the water and they should starting chewing a little better.  We are going to try a few spots a little deeper tomorrow!
